Global Action for Burma : Second Struggle for National Independence
“Let's unite for Democratic Federal Union of Burma”
4th January, 2009 will mark the 61st anniversary of Independence Day for Burma. Since the fall of Mandalay Kingdom, People of Burma have never given up their fight to regain their independence. Thousands of people have sacrificed their lives. Why? They had only one hope to have a chance for the future generations to enjoy the fruits of independence.
However, People of Burma have not had this chance until now. They have been under the most oppressive and brutal regime in the world. Despite of their liberation from foreign colonization, they have not yet liberated from the dictatorial oppression of their own people. Without genuine liberation, no one can enjoy the fruits of independence. To have a genuine liberation, Burma must be established as a federal union that will guarantee democratic rights to all citizens and political equality for all ethnic nationalities.
Therefore, we call upon the People of Burma and overseas Burmese people around the world to the global action for the second struggle for national independence to establish a Democratic Federal Union of Burma. Demonstrations and a number of activities will take place in different countries. We would like to encourage everyone to join with us to show solidarity and unity.

ႏွစ္ (၆၀) ျပည့္ ႏိုင္ငံတကာလူ႕အခြင့္အေရး အထိမ္းအမွတ္ျပပြဲ ဖိတ္ၾကားျခင္း
(၁၉၄၈) ခုႏွစ္၊ ဒီဇင္ဘာလ (၁၀) ရက္ေန႕က က်င္းပခဲ့ေသာ ကမၻာ့ကုလသမဂၢ အေထြေထြညီလာခံမွ ခ်မွတ္ အတည္ျပဳ ထုတ္ျပန္ခဲ့သည့္ အခ်က္ (၃၀) ပါ လူ႕အခြင့္အေရး ေၾကညာစာတမ္းၾကီးသည္ ယခုလာမည့္ ဒီဇင္ဘာလ (၁၀) ရက္ေန႕တြင္ ႏွစ္ (၆၀) တင္းတင္း ျပည့္မည့္ျဖစ္ပါသည္။
လူသားတိုင္း၏ ေမြးရာပါ အေျခခံရပိုင္ခြင့္ျဖစ္ေသာ အဆိုပါ လူ႕အခြင့္အေရးမ်ားကို ခ်ိဳးေဖာက္ခံရျခင္း မရွိေစရန္ ႏိုင္ငံတကာတြင္ ၀ိုင္း၀န္းကာကြယ္ေစာင့္ေရွာက္ေနခ်ိန္၌ ျမန္မာႏိုင္ငံတြင္ကား ဆိုးရြားသထက္ ဆိုးရြားစြာ ခ်ိဳးေဖာက္ခံေနရပါသည္။
ထို႕ေၾကာင့္ ယခုက်ေရာက္ေတာ့မည့္ ႏွစ္ (၆၀)ျပည့္ ႏိုင္ငံတကာ လူ႕အခြင့္အေရးေန႕တြင္ ႏိုင္ငံတကာေရာက္ မ်ိဳးခ်စ္ျမန္မာမ်ား အသီးသီးမွ မိမိတို႕ ေနထိုင္ရာ ႏိုင္ငံအလိုက္ လုပ္ပိုင္ခြင့္ရသည့္အတိုင္း တျပိဳင္နက္တည္း စုေပါင္းညီညာစြာ ျပဳလုပ္က်င္းပမည္ ျဖစ္ပါသည္။
စကၤာပူႏိုင္ငံေရာက္ ျမန္မာ့ဒီမိုကေရစီအေရး တက္ၾကြလွဳပ္ရွားသူမ်ား အေနျဖင့္လည္း မိမိတို႕ ျမန္မာႏိုင္ငံသားမ်ား စစ္အာဏာရွင္လက္ေအာက္တြင္ လူ႕အခြင့္အေရးမ်ား ခ်ိဳးေဖာက္ခံေနရပံုႏွင့္ ထိုအျဖစ္မွ မိမိတို႕ တတ္စြမ္းသေရြ႕ ရုန္းထြက္လြတ္ေျမာက္ႏိုင္ရန္ သိသင့္သိထိုက္ေသာ အခ်က္အလက္မ်ားအား ျပပြဲငယ္တခုအျဖစ္ ခင္းက်င္းျပသရန္ စီစဥ္ထားပါသျဖင့္ လာေရာက္ၾကည့္ရွဳႏိုင္ရန္ ဖိတ္ၾကားအပ္ပါသည္။

လက္မွတ္ေရးထိုးခဲ့ၾကျပီး ကုလသမဂၢအဖြဲ႕ခ်ဳပ္ၾကီးမွ “လူ႕အခြင့္အေရးပ႗ိဥာဥ္” စာခ်ဳပ္ၾကီးကို တရားဝင္ထုပ္ျပန္ေၾကညာခ့ဲျခင္းျဖစ္ေပသည္။
ယင္း “လူ၌အခြင့္အေရးပ႗ိဥာဥ္”စာခ်ဳပ္ပါ စည္းမ်ဥ္စည္းကမ္းမ်ားကို လိုက္နာက်င့္သံုးရန္ ျမန္မာႏိုင္ငံသည္ကတိျပဳ လက္မွတ္ေရးထိုးခဲ့သည့္ ႏိုင္ငံတႏိုင္ငံျဖစ္ျပီး ကုလသမဂၢအဖြဲ႕ဝင္ ႏိုင္ငံတႏိုင္ငံအျဖစ္ တည္ရွိေနဆဲ ျဖစ္သည္။

Global Call to Action against Burmese Military Regime
Condemn Burmese Military Regime for human rights violations in Burma
'Dignity and Justice for all of us'
On 10th December, 1948, the General Assembly of the United Nations proclaimed the Universal Declaration of Human Rights as a common standard of achievement for all peoples and all nations that every individual and every organ of society shall strive to promote to respect for these rights and progressive measures, national and international to secure their universal and effective recognition and observance, both among the peoples of Member States themselves and among the peoples of territories under their jurisdiction. Burma is a member of the United Nations and voted in favor of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948.
However, Gross Human Rights Violations, including forced displacement, forced labour, attacked by soldiers on civilians, destruction or theft of food supplies, murder, torture, rape and political imprisonment have been widespread in Burma. Freedom of expression and Freedom of Association are non-existence. The right to life, liberty and security for Burmese citizens are denied. People of Burma have been subjected to arbitrary arrest, detention and exile. In Burma, human rights violations are committed on a daily basis by ruling military regime.
Therefore, we call upon the international community and overseas Burmese people around the world to a global day action against the military regime in Burma on 10th December, 2008. Demonstrations and a number of activities will take place in different countries on that day. We would like to encourage everyone to join with us to condemn Burmese military regime for human rights violations in Burma.

Global action for Burma (10 D movement) in England
Respect for human rights and human dignity "is the foundation of freedom, justice and peace" in the world and 10 December is Human Rights Day. An essential element in the protection of human rights is a widespread knowledge and understanding among people of what their rights are and how they can be defended.
The people of Burma have been suffering under one of the world's most brutal and repressive regime. The military regime uses murder, torture, rape, political imprisonment and forced labour as practices for ruling the citizens of Burma. Freedom of expression and freedom of association are non-existent and Burmese citizens are denied any state in the shaping of their future.
Burma crisis is now in crucial situation. Even though National Leaguefor Democracy (NLD) led by Aung San Suu Kyi won 1990 elections overwhelmingly held by very Generals who are currently ruling the country ignore to honour the elections' results. Although International Community is calling for the release of all political prisoners, military regime defied it by sentencing political dissidents to prison for up to 65 years each. They also declared to hold rigged elections in 2010 before honouring 1990 elections results.
Justice is outlaw, injustice is prevail everywhere and military regime is always above the law in Burma. This is our duty to protect and promote human rights and justice in Burma, whoever we are and wherever we are.
To hightlight the military regime's atrocities, Burma Democratic Concern (BDC) together with Burmese Musilms Association (BMA) and Burmese Community will hold the demonstration on 10th December 2008 (Wed) from 12:00-13:30 in front of the Burmese Embassy in UK. We would like to encourage everyone to join with us to show solidarity and to demand United Nations Security Council to take practical action on Burma.
